A Fabric mod that allows for efficient connected textures

Overview

Continuity

Continuity is a Fabric mod built around modern APIs to allow for the most efficient connected textures experience possible. It is designed to provide full Optifine parity for all resource packs that use the Optifine/MCPatcher CTM format.

Continuity depends on the Fabric API and is client-side only. With the mod come two built-in resource packs - one provides default connected textures, similar to Optifine, and the other provides a fix for glass pane culling.

CTM

Nowadays, there are two main CTM (Connected Texture Mapping) formats:

  • Optifine/MCPatcher format
  • Chisel/ConnectedTexturesMod format

Continuity only supports the Optifine/MCPatcher format. If support for the Chisel format is required, consider using the ConnectedTexturesMod for Fabric instead. Note that using Continuity and CTMF at the same time is an unsupported configuration, at least for the time being.

Forge Version

I do not see myself working on a Forge version of Continuity for two main reasons:

  • Optifine. Optifine has native support for Forge, so a Forge version of Continuity would not be very useful in the first place.
  • Forge's model API. It is vastly different from Fabric's model API (FRAPI), which is utilized by the Fabric version, and switching to it would not only require an incredible amount of effort, but also result in the mod being extremely inefficient.

    I have both Sodium and Indium installed, along with some other mods. I don't believe that I have any mods that don't work with Continuity, and I have both Resource packs open. What should I do?

    I have been using continuity for a while now but i still cant figure out whats wrong with the texture pack Log: latest.log

    Aparently it has smth to do with with emmissive texture rendering, but even after turning it of it wont work

    Hello, I use random textures overlay through ctm and since I switched to sodium for performance, I am trying to convert everything in my resourcepack to something compatible. I have a file like this:

    matchTiles=dark_oak_leaves
    tiles=0-6 <skip>
    weights= 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 100
    method=overlay_random
    connect=block
    biomes=dark_forest
    

    but it doesn't show anything using this method I used with Optifine. Is there an alternative I could use to achieve the same result?

    Doesn't work in 1.18.2, with sodium and indium. Glass and panes are not connecting.

    The texture packs continuity/default and continuity/glass_pane_culling are also weirdly getting deselected, have to select it manually everytime after loading a world. Even then, the glass and panes don't connect.

    Hi there, so I have got the mod fully installed. I have all the extra mods needed and I have got mod menu saying it's installed. I also tested some conencted texture texturepacks on it, but none worked. The connected textures just won't load. Not with default texturepacks either. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

    So, i have a texture pack, and what it does, is change models and textures when carved pumpkin is renamed to a specific word, then you can put it on your head, and there it is, a lil silly hat. One small problem, i have a miner helmet in my texture pack, and it the lamp thing should glow, however it's not, but it does in optifine OptiFine: 2022-11-17_20 58 22 Continiuty + SITResewn + Fabric API + Indium + Mod Menu + Sodium 2022-11-17_21 23 07

    Loading Loop on 1.19

    It seems something is causing the game to get stuck in a loading loop at the Mojang screen when launched with this mod in 1.19. I can't tell if it's some kind of conflict, but it only happens when Continuity is installed and it stops when I remove it.

    With iris Patrick x256 ressource pack 16chunks of render and deus ressource pack I get around 40-50fps but when I put continuity in my mod folder my fps goes down to 5
