About the Curriculum

The Curriculum is roughly based on the Coptic curriculum of St. Athanasius Deacons School at St. Mary and St. Athanasius Church, Madinet Nasr, Cairo, Egypt. It's considered the best deacons school out there.

The Curriculum used on the app is a condensed version as it doesn't dwell on hymns analysis.

The levels

Level 1: Read Like a Pharaoh Letters

Level 2: Sound like a Pharaoh Words Structure

Level 3: Speak like a Pharaoh Sentence Structure

Level 4: Comprehend like a Pharoah Words and Speech

About the Tree

As this is a Coptic learning app, some common terms have been changed to their Coptic meanings:

The master branch has been renamed to neeb (Ⲛⲏⲃ).

Git origin renamed to moumi (Ⲙⲟⲩⲙⲓ).

So, when you pull master it will be git pull neeb

and when you push to origin it will be git push moumi

About the formatter & packages

We use ESLint and Prettier, download the extensions on your editor.

We use yarn rather than npm install

Comments

Create a progress bar header that tracks the user progress

Across the same level, the user should see a progress bar of their progress, and maybe insights like time spent per lesson or overall untiil the finish line.

Create consts that has all letter names and pronunciations and names. Create lesson 1 plan based on the consts and put them in a lesson screen waiting on plans to render.

Downgrade react-native-{gesture-handler, reanimated}

react-native-reanimated of version 2+ break the emulator. It crashes the Android emulator and the iOS emulator turns blank when debug with Chrome starts.

These versions are taken from Catena to make sure they work together as they're boths deps for react-navigation.
