Overview

Show Me Your Skin!

Show Me Your Skin! (the exclamation mark is important) is a client-side mod that enables extensive customization of armor rendering. Every feature is toggleable and designed to be as flexible as possible.

Sliders galore

All the armor hiding options you could ever need, in one intuitive GUI. Including:

  • Individual armor piece transparency/invisibility
  • Enchantment glint removal
  • Player name tag display toggle
  • Context-sensitive armor hiding
  • Per-player settings overrides

So many possibilities!

Context-sensitive hiding

Armor can be restored to vanilla behavior based on certain conditions, such as being in combat. This means the armor will be shown for a configurable amount of seconds after a player is damaged.

Per-player overrides

Override values per player in multiplayer, giving the vanilla social interactions screen an actual use!

    If I try to open the config with Mod Menu or press the keybind (Basically try to use the mod in general) it crashes the game completely. Crash report says something about Rendering entity in world even though I wasn't in a world yet, plus "Cannot invoke "net.minecraft.class_1297.method_23317()" because "$$0" is null"

    Transparency does not work on modded armor but hide enchantment works fine.

    Add key bind to switch between 2 or more custom modes for all players example: 1 mode - all armor is off (0%) and elytra is on (my custom setting number 1) 2 mode - all armor is on (100%) (my custom setting number 2) 3 mode (optional) - 50% of helmet and boots, chestplate and leggings are turned off (0%) By pressing the bound key, the modes will cycle.

    Show Enchantment Glow when hurt (basically the same as the armor setting) this would allow people to simulate a magical aura protecting them in combat but not active at all times.

    When you turn off the chestplate armor piece with the ears mod installed, the chest setting of ears does not stop rendering. I have talked to unascribed, inorder for the rendering of the chest armor to be disabled the ears api should be used to tell ears whether to stop rendering the extra bit of armor.

    To reproduce:

    1. Equip any armor
    2. Open the SMYS' GUI and set armor visibility to anything that's not 0% or 100%
    3. Rendering on the GUI itself is completely broken; rendering in game is ok-ish, but you can see slight issues, e.g. you can see the outlines of the armor while your shadow is in the background (and maybe under some other conditions too, I didn't test it extensively)

    Just having Iris installed is enough to reproduce the issue, you don't have to use any actual shaders. Works without Iris, but with Sodium still installed.
